Oregon’s Living Legends: A Study of Oregon’s Wild Horses and the Ranges They Roam

By Andi Harmon

Artwork by Michelle Severe

HORSECITY EXCLUSIVE: Each book sold through our store will be an exclusive edition signed by both the author, Andi Harmon and illustrator, Michelle Severe.

This book contains a brief history of the BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program, and specifically the wild horses of Oregon and the exemplary management program by the Oregon BLM staff. It’s not a “pro-BLM” book, nor is it a “pro-wild horse advocate” book, but rather a blending of both worlds showing how a dedicated staff and management program can work for the benefit of the horses, the range and all who use it, whether it’s ranchers, recreational users or wildlife.

In addition to the history and implementation of the Wild Horse and Burro Program, the book contains over 200 photos, a dozen pieces of original artwork, a variety of stories from adopters of wild horses, stories of “famous” wild horses, maps showing how to get to the wild horse herds and more!

It’s all contained in just over 250 pages, 30 of them in color, in full 8.5 x 11 format, in an easy to read print in a soft cover.

Jessica Volpe, who is “The Sugar Lady” on Horsecity's Bulletin Board, did the front cover design/layout with Michelle’s artwork.
